What a Season
/I’ve been a Dallas Cowboys fan my whole life. Some of my earliest memories revolve around the Cowboys winning those 2 Super Bowls against the Buffalo Bills in the early 90s. They won again in 1995, but since then, it has not been easy being a Cowboys fan.
There have been a couple great seasons throughout the years (‘07, ‘09, ‘14), but the majority have been filled with mediocrity and disappointment.
Cowboys fans are a passionate bunch, and many have strong opinions about how Jerry Jones has run the team. However, throughout the years, I’ve always felt that Jerry had the best interest of the team in mind and that he also wanted to win more than anyone. Makes sense because he has invested millions of dollars into the team. A few years ago, the management of the team began investing in the offensive line and other tools to make the foundation of the team stronger. That has paid off! I’m happy for Jerry and the other leadership that the team is beginning to see success.
What we are seeing this year in 2016 (so far) with Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot is unlike anything we've ever experienced. I'm amazed at the success they keep having! As of the writing of this post, they just won a hard-fought and often ugly game versus the Minnesota Vikings. They made a few mistakes but they fought hard and were able to prevail. Now they're 11-1 going into the final stretch of the season.
I'm excited to see where this season will go, but I'm trying to keep my expectations in check. But what they are doing under the leadership of Dak Prescott is pretty special. Whether or not this year ends in ultimate glory, it will still have been a fun ride... One that this long-time Cowboys fan won't soon forget.
